SOLVED; as tech minded as I am, I checked all settings on TV and Xbox, the issue was when I moved HDMI cables around and set up the next Xbox, it defaulted to a basic HDMI function setting, changed to enhanced hdmi to unlock 2.1 features, lag and Input delay significantly decreased.
I stand corrected, series S is still the best value console available to date! It does look to be 1080p often in games though but it does the job cheap.

just got a series S and having some noticeable input lag from the controller.
My controller is up to date and all settings on tv are no different to my series X and ps5, which have much better input for whatever reason.
Are they known for being worse or anything?
Is there something I’m missing etc?
Console is brand new and honestly feels like playing on a 360 in 2023. Just given my series x to a friend so we could play cod so can’t test with it now until I see him tomorrow.
