#Xbox disconnecting randomly

☹️
It’s usually around the 30 minute mark
It’s never in the 10s, 20s, 40s or 50s
Always around in the 30s
Disconnects as in the power goes off? Or the Internet connection goes off?
If it's the latter, I would say it's an issue with your internet provider or your router
Internet
Seems is either your internet provider or router
If you're on WiFi, try connecting it via cable
Like it went away for ages but now it’s back
try using ethernet
I haven’t had the issue for a few months til I switched to my alt for overwatch
And then my alt started disconnecting every hour
And now my main is doing it again
My internets good and rarely has problems so I don’t really think it’s that
Does it only happen with Overwatch? I'd assume it happens to the whole console, so your Overwatch alt would have nothing to do with it.
Whole console
It's definitely gotta be your Internet
Whether it's your router or your Internet provider, that's something we can't possibly know here
But I would try calling your provider or, as said before, try connecting to it via ethernet cable instead of WiFi
It’s confusing because when I first got my Xbox it never did it
And I had the same internet as i do now
I’ll do that over the weekend
Like it’s not lengthy disconnections
It’s just like a second disconnect
But that second disconnect kicks me out the game and makes me lose my spot
Or costs me a comp game
Routers can sometimes have hiccups, same with Internet connections.
Honestly this sounds like your Internet provider does something every hour, particularly since you mention it always happens at exactly the same time, and that small change is enough to kick you off the game
They may have changed how they handle something
I would call them and explain your problem
One day it’ll disconnect every hour at the 32nd minute for example
Then the next day it disconnects at say the 35th minute every hour
Sometimes it doesn’t even do it for a few hours then randomly starts
so it is random then andd not at the same time at all
i would definitely use ethernet.
Kinda
It’s consistent for a while
Then randomly stops for a few months
yeah so that would literally be random thats isnt constant at all like you said
Ya
Like my main stopped doing it but when I switched to my alt and then back to my main it started doing it again
I noticed a “fix” is appearing offline
It’s not a complete fix it’s temporary, it stops it from happening for a few hours and then it happens again
did you try with ethernet cable
My routers downstairs
My Xbox is upstairs
Not easy
A static ip is supposedly a fix aswell
But idk how to do static IPs lol
Unlikley thats likley the iossue if the router is on a other floor. You can get a power line this will let you use your power sockets for your connection.
Amazon.co.uk: power line adapter
My dad said there’s something that’s similar to an Ethernet cable somewhere and he’s gonna try look for it
Hopefully that works
If not then I’ll try a static ip, most things I’ve seen on the internet say about a static ip but like I said idk how to do those
Annoying how it wasn’t doing it for a while but as soon as I start using my alt it starts again
a static ip is not going to make your connection better,
anyhow we all told you yesterday what you need to do a wired connection
If connections an issue why didn’t it do it for 2 years when we’ve had the same internet since I’ve had my series x, why would it be disconnecting every hour for a few weeks then stopping for months again
Sometimes if I’m away from my Xbox for a few days or so because of holiday it stops doing it when I come back
Because this how wireless connections are, You keep posting but we told you what to do 24 hours ago.
Go buy a network power line or look that up if you dont know what that is.
Do not set a static ip. Those are used in very specific scenarios where you are specifically told to do it by your network manager. This is not one of those situations.
