When i try to log in, the screen will go black then i get sent back to the homepage

For browser issues, I would do the regular troubleshooting steps first:
- Clear cookies and browser cache.
- Try checking any add-ons that may be related to the process and either disabling or bypassing them. In my experience, the most common culprit to these types of things is an overzealous adblocker or some other add-on that is configured to block scripts and redirects, such as NoScript, for example.
- Try a fresh browser with no add-ons. I usually use Chrome for this if my normal Firefox, for whatever reason, breaks a website.
If none of these help, then unfortunately the issue is beyond my scope.

I'm not using the browser. This is happening inside the xbox app

Oh, for that, the steps are a bit similar.
You just need to go into the app's settings and clear the cache (I'm on Android but I'm sure this has to be possible on iOS as well), and if that doesn't help, clear all data, and finally, if that doesn't help, try a reinstall.
The first step is usually all I need.

Oh I see, I misunderstood you at first.
For that, I would try force-closing the app, going to your temp files folder (path should be something like AppData/user/Temp) and clearing those, and/or reinstalling the app and restarting your PC.
Unfortunately, I'm at the end of my rope here.
