the xbox UI will not work with a Mouse and a keyborad will only work for typing you need an controller.

K&M is only supported in games and only for typing. Yes you need to buy a controller thats the answer to your question

you can navigate the dashboard with a keyboard using the arrow keys. Windows key will bring up the xbox guide. mouse isn't supported on the dash. but you can get to settings and enter your wifi. as for gaming, the game will need to support kb/m
