Xbox wireless adapter crackling a lot and sometimes loses connection sometimes to wireless headset

I have a steel series arctis 9x and its not working too good with the adapter. It works great when connected to my xbox but it just keeps crackling. Theres nothing in the way of the line of sight and its not placed on metal. My headset on my head is about 2-3 feet away from it so it should work great. Sometimes itll sound good but then instantly start crackling when I don't even move. Any help would be great

i just tried using the extender to put the adapter right next to my headset and it still crackles
