The controller's left stick doens't register correctly. It acts like less pressure is being put forward with the faceplate on. With the faceplate off, it is perfectly fine. In call of duty Modern Warfare 2, the faceplate on moves with a walk while without is more of a jog. It may be the vertical sensor on the stick going bad? It has happened to another other controller as well. Compressed air at the sensor has done nothing

Certain topics are not appropriate for discussion, such as: game sharing outside of your household, self-repair and disassembly of hardware, piracy, emulation, violating Xbox policies or Terms of Service, explicit material, not-safe-for-work topics, discussion of leaks, and questionable or illegal activities. NOTE: Even though Xbox is offering controller repair kits for sale now, self-repair discussion in this server beyond linking to said kits is still not allowed. Self-repair requires a moderate level of skill and knowledge to do and any errors in doing self-repair can result in damage that is not covered under any warranty. If you have questions that are not answered by the guides linked off the controller parts pages in the store, you likely do not posses the skills or knowledge for performing the self-repair and should seek out a repair shop to perform your repair.
