Does Diablo IV Require Game Pass Core?

Hello everyone,

Diablo IV is on sale right now and I may bite. I'm curious though if it requires Game Pass Core on console?

I'm interested in the main Campaign and playing solo specifically. I've heard the game doesn't have a single player mode like previous entries in the franchise, and earlier in the spring the game's store page listed Xbox LIVE as a requirement but that was removed before launch. Single Player was also added as a tag on the store.

I just don't want to drop the money only to find I can't play the game without a subscription, and Googling the subject has not brought me a clear answer.

You don't need a subscription to play Diablo IV. You'll still need an active internet connection since the game is online only and running off of servers, even in singleplayer mode. But you can play alone just fine without Game Pass Core.
The subscription is only required to participate in multiplayer activities such as chatting with friends, trading items, engaging in PvP, joining Clans etc.
