idk if this is even an xbox issue but it may be? or someone might know how to fix

i have the wireless steel series artic 1s for xbox ofc.

And the headset works perfectly via wireless usb dongle provided with the headset.

But if my headset dies or something, i usually use the 3.5mm to connect to my xbox.

Audio works fine via 3.5mm, but the headset mic doesnt work? any one know why?
