I was wondering if I was able to take a external hard drive while at home and install updates and stuff for a game on it and then unplug it and bring it somewhere else and on a different Xbox where there is no Wi-Fi be able to use that game the same. I am at a place that has no wifi but want to install Halo Infinite. I am at a place that has an Xbox 1 s and I want to use the wifi there to install the full game then take it back to the Xbox with no Wi-Fi and play it the same. Will this work? I own it on disk

i dont believe so. its all packaged together. it will better if u just copy the entire game. i think the xbox without wifi need at the very least needs to be online to sign in on ur acct that has permissions to halo infinite.
So if I just copy the entire game it will work?
if its the same acct that owns the game yes. i used a portable hdd t play games that i had on xb1 to my series x no issue. im not sure about the no wifi though
I own the game on disk so I don't think the account will be an issue
i always had wifi enabled for my consoles
Yea well I'm in a placement and can't access wifi there but I go on home visits
true
u could always test it. im dont have a clue how to install updates for a specific game in the way that u r describing.
I mean if I can just copy the entire game onto the hard drive that works too
true. make sure that no wifi xbox is not xb1x and u have xb1s cause there are xbox 1 x enchanced games. not sure if infinite have xb1x upgrades for it. probably would
Yea they are both Xbox 1s's
Thanks for your help I will be testing this later if you want me to let you know I can try
Me too
It should work, actually, as long as you use the disc on the offline Xbox. Just make sure you delete any other copies of Halo Infinite so it knows to use the up to date one on the hard drive.
Ok thanks
