In Audio & music window, the slider for Headphone chat mixer is grayed out. How do I fix that?

If your using a wireless headset then you wont be able to change the audio slider, you're headset should have little wheels on it that you can turn, one of them should change party audio and the other game audio.

It’s actually a pair of wired headphones from my delta flight to Europe back in June lol

Hm try hard restarting

Shut down the console by pressing and holding the Power button on the Xbox.

Release the Power button once the console turns off.

Unplug the Power Cable.

Wait at least 2 minutes.

Plug the Power Cable in.

Press the Power button to turn the console back on.

If the headset isn't a stereo headset, it won't show the mixer. I can only assume the same is the case if it doesn't have a mic. If it's a headset from a flight, is it even a chat headset?

ya we fixed it, it might have been the jack or some because he found a pair that worked and had the mixer.
