i already have game pass ultimate for 3 years, but my new gaming laptop came with a free one month subscription. so what happens when i redeem it, does it delete all my 3 years? does it add but very little because of the convert policy? or does it just simply add that month to my 3 years?

If you have 36 months, it won’t add anything as that’s the maximum. I’m also willing to bet that code is only available to people who haven’t had the service before. It will not delete your currently stored time if you are able to use it though.
