Ive tried to install games from xobox onto my d drive but it just wont work it comes up with the error code 0x80070005 they also install fine on my c drive

u talking about installing from xbox app pc version? did u go to settings and go to install options

Just for science - try this: If you go to Settings > System > Storage > Advanced storage settings > Where new content is saved and change "new apps will save to" D:, go back to the Xbox app and try installing again, does it work?

You can change that setting back to C: afterwards
