#Issues with wifi connection

I'm at college currently, and had to move rooms because of my last roommate harassing me. Now everything besides my series X works on the wifi still from this new room. I'm not really much further from the wifi itself, as the room is on the opposite side of a 0 shaped rectangular dorm floor. The series X still connects to hotspot. Apparently it's the particular wifi, I've tried DNS, MAC resets, power drain resets, normal off/on reset, that variety. It still doesn't work, and it won't let me hard reset either. So what do I do?

is it near some metal? like a metal shelf, a metal wall panel, etc

It sits under my desk that has skinny metal legs, but it's been under it at the old room too

#

The legs of the desk are more likely 1 inch in diameter and hollow

#

This is the closest "metal" to it

if you want to rule out the kind of interference I'm thinking of, try running it just on top of a desk or whatever just to check

I did put it on top, which is a fake wood material. No dice

#

I mainly do doubt it's the spot interference as a laptop I have is right next to it, and doesn't lose wifi, apparently to what I read online as "wifi absorbing metals"

#

Well, if you find out anything, please let me know, but I need rest, I don't need to oversleep and miss a class

Thank you for your support
