i connected my xbox to my laptop and launched the xbox app and only 3 categories are present and there is no connect app i doubt my laptop inst comaptible as it has a hdmi hole can someone help

Are you trying to use the laptop screen to show the xbox? The laptop being HDMI has nothing to do with it. If your trying to connect the Xbox to the Xbox app to stream the xbox to your PC then both devices need to be on the same network.

i put it from the xbox out and to connect my xbox to wifi do i need to plug it to the tv connect to the internet and then try again?

initial setup of an xbox must be done with the xbox connected to a tv or monitor. you can't do a remote setup of it

Keep the xbox connected to the TV as your normally would. Ensure its on and connected to your home internet. Using the Xbox companion app on your laptop you can then connect to the Xbox and stream it to the laptop.
