My sister let me borrow her disc for COD Black Ops Cold War. On the disc, it says Xbox one and Xbox Series X. The game came out mid December 2020, right after the next gen consoles became a thing. I’m worried I won’t be able to play the next gen version without purchasing the cross gen bundle. Is this the case?

Heres the thing though
While its installing, just to check, i went into my games and apps and sorted my games by console type, and it put Cold War under Xbox One.
Will that change when its done, or?

In fact thinking about this i do not thing the above is right because COD does not support Smart delivery so it may not. It may just mean that the disc will play the xbox one version on both consoles.

I not sure if it be 30fps alot of games were 60 on Xbox one but maybe. The point of the next gen version is the upgrade. A game dev/publisher. Can choose if they want there game to support free upgrades and work on both meaning you just buy one version of the game and you get the best version possable on the console you use xbox one/Series X.
