My dad has a new (new) xbox, the one that looks like the upright rectangular prism.
It should be noted that the same issue/s occurred on the previous 'XBOX ONE X' which looks like a rectangular prism on it's side.
When the console is powered on, there is internet connectivity via ethernet. I can ping the console from another machine.
I have assigned a static IP address, this address is outside of the DHCP mapping range and has a static lease.
UPNP is enabled, I can see the rule for toredo appearing in the upnp table when the xbox is powered on. The correct address is specified.
The xbox reports a NAT type of : Unavailable and then links the xbox support page for Teredo
The xbox is not used for online play at all, but a connection to the various services seems to be required regardless, to play local games.
I have tried an alternative ethernet cable, I have tried removing the static address and letting DHCP handle it. I have tried various DNS addresses. I have tried disabling IPV6 & UPNP. I have tried a factory reset of both consoles and the router.
Restarting the router fixes the problem for one session, I imagine it refreshes the NAT during this process.
This isn't a solution, what is the correct solution?
