Xbox controller is disconnecting but stays on

Possibly input glitch? I know that occurs on some games, most notably GTA, current there has been no attempt to patch it by Microsoft… however I know that if you have only your controller connected and no keyboard it’s less likely to happen… however if that isn’t the issue it could be something interfering with your wireless connection @lapis bramble

I've tried everything. New controller, checking for signal interference, better Internet, updating the Xbox and controller, nothing works. I'm going to get my account information transferred onto a new Xbox.

It's probably your wifi card . Im having the same exact issue.

Try adding a wire instead of wireless, if it waorks that means the prroblem is either in your controller or your xbox

yes, xbox controllers use usb.
older ones were microusb newer ones are usb-c. it is easy to tell the difference by looking at your controller so you can get the right thing

If I just plug it into the actual Xbox it won't try to charge the controller right?
