I recently broke my controller and cant afford another for a while. I remembered some games stating they have keyboard functionality yet when i start any of the games im stuck at the main menu telling me to press A. I tried using the xbox app on my phone to bypass but it doesnt register any inputs other than to open menu and quit game. The keyboard has the same issues, on home screen works as intended but load up a game and suddenly the only keys that work are the ones to quit the game. Do i have to have a controller just to start any of the so called "compatible" games or am i missing a step?

Some games may require a controller to start. You could also try pressing Enter at the menu to see if that works.

Tried that and spacebar. Neither registers input and controller is the one thing i don't have
Only game that works is minecraft but thatll bore me very quickly
