Alright so, yesterday I dug up my XB360 disk of Battlefield Bad Company one, with tears of nostalgia in my eyes. I did a long research on the possibilities on playing this game on PC, but of course, no result. I then remembered that some 360 disks work on new consoles. I searched up in the XBOX site if BFBC1 is interchangeable for my XB1S and it was. So today I entered the disk in the machine and let it go. It took a lot of time installing the game, with multiple failures (caused by a little stain on the disk that I cleaned off with alcohol), but after 2 hours it finally did the thing. I booted the game which lead me to... what seemed like XBOX360's operating system emulated on the XBOX 1S.
Before I continue I just want to clarify that I understand only and only from hardware and free and open software partially. I haven't the slightest idea about anything XBOX related so I may or may not have done a bruh moment.
The game booted normally, in fact it did faster than I expected it would. I went through the intro, the cutscenes, tutorial, first combat sequence and then... I decided to switch my HK 416 for a Saiga 20 Skladnoy. That decision made me unable to use any weaponry in the game afterwards. I decided to restart my XBOX, but I had no idea how to do so, as it did not let me go to the XBOX turn off/restart menu or whatever.
So what is the first thing that a computer engineer in-training does?
I cut the power, lol.
After shoving its AC back in the outlet, the machine turned on fine, but it stood on a black screen for... 15 minutes? I tried shutting it off again, and the same issue repeated, but this time I let it rest, after resisting the urge to KS-23 the machine. It got to the XBOX flash screen (but had no audio) and stood on it for... IDK how much but a lotta time
I saw it a bit ago and dad said that it displayed some error message but I did not see it. I will update if I do see it.
Pleas help, I want to play BF!
