Is it the D-Pad or the Joysticks?
I don't need to cuz I know, every time I click down on d-pad it always scrolls down without me touching
I can't even do anything with it happening
So this is my only controller
Alright just needed to double check
I'm not smart with computers so I need help
I don't want to take it apart
Because I don't trust myself
So it would seem that something in your controller is causing it to keep thinking you are holding down on the D-Pad. If you don't trust yourself to take apart your controller there are other ways to get help with that. There are professional people who take apart controllers with care. I'm not the greatest with fixing things but I would maybe try updating it and seeing if that helps. If you spilled smoothie on it some of it could've gotten inside which is causing the malfunction. Josling it around could help too.
Is it just the down button? Or does it do the same with the other directions?
Down button
So yeah I assume there is something under the case
We do not tell people to disassemble their devices here. It is against the rules.
oh my bad
If your controller buttons are broken you’ll need to either contact support for a warranty repair or buy a new one.
I got this controller on last Christmas, how do I know if I still have a warranty
if you still have the box it came in
At least I think
Normally it comes on the reciept
I live in a poor family so I don't have much money to spare for video games
Sometimes the cashier will ask you for extended warrenty
okay then I assume it lasts about a year
so you should have time
Can I claim a warranty at Walmart for the controller
Could you lemme know the model of the controlelr
I got it at my Walmart
Yes you can
The Xbox series x came with a controller
So I can claim the warranty even though I bought the Xbox
You'll have to check the model and see how long the basic warrenty is on it
So just call Walmart
oh so it's the series x one
The one that came with the console?
The warranty is the same on the console and the controller
So no worries?
Yeah it'll be a year
My friend is having me put tiny drops of alcohol in the crevices to see if that helps
12-month warranty
Every 10 minutes
yep. dang you really can tell I work at a Walmart
Would that help? What I'm doing
honestly I wouldn't mess with it too much
The warranty only covers accidental damages or faults
At least I believe that is it
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question but when I claim the warranty Am I able to choose a different color
I've been stuck with black and white for a long time
No I don't think you will.
I only put a couple drops, not much
I'll stop then
I think I have another controller somewhere but that has stick drift
B&W is sick whatchu talkin about
Is there a way to fix stick drift
Honestly none I can talk here
I have a matte black controller The first controller ever had was white
Why can't you talk about stick drift here
Black and White not bad colours
Is that a forbidden rule or something
no about self repairs
👆
Honestly we all wish
I'm not sure if updating the controller will help in the Xbox Accessories application
But it's worth a try
I don't understand how an Xbox controller update would help a smoothie spill
Could you help me understand that, I'm not trying to sound rude I just don't understand
Everything is mostly mechanical so it's the inner workings at play when they get faulty
Do the gears shift in there when you upgrade it
it's the only thing I can think of that can be talked about here
But how does that work
it just turns the controller on and off
I understand that but how does that fix a smoothie spill
The one way to fix stick drift that I can say here is to just not use that controller for a while (6-8 months)
worked for one of my controllers
I'm not entirely sure if I helped but I hope something was useful. The safest path you would want to choose is the warranty path
My mom probably doesn't give 2 craps if my controller doesn't work
I may not have the receipt but I have the box, for the controller would that work
I think
@west kernel
honestly it might
but im not sure
do you still have all the stuff that was in the box
like any papers?
okay the box has the SN on it
Do you see a white rounded corner rectangle on it?
there should be a barcode and the SN
Wdym
it'll be on the bottom of the box
Is that on the outside of the box
bottom
oh well this one is talking about the controller itself
oh perfect it lets you check it there
just check this link and open up the back of your controller
So I can get a free one mailed to me if I'm eligible
How do I register a controller
