I am just now finding out via my photos gallery that my saved clip of me playing monster Hunter world on Xbox one S is 30fps. I clipped it in 1080 but thought it would be in 60fps. As for the series x, can I clip games in 1080p 60fps? And I noticed there’s a 4K60 option too which is great but I’d prefer longer clips and settle for 1080. So on the Xbox series X can I clip games in 1080p60fps, assuming MHW is a 60fps game which I’m sure it is even on the Xbox one s

Monster Hunter World is capped to 30fps on Xbox One S and Series S. Only the One X/SeriesX enhanced version has 60fps.
You can clip up to one minute in 1080p60fps on Series X|S. 720p60fps can be 3 minutes long.
The Xbox One S can only clip in 30fps. It's 2 Minutes for 1080p and 5 minutes for 720p here. Probably because the 30fps files are smaller.
There’s no SX version I believe. Based on the text such as “saving game do not turn your Xbox one x console off” I believe it just runs the one x version. My TV is undoubtedly displaying 4K, but does that affect 60fps gameplay? Does my console recognize it and drop me down to 30fps? I find it odd I cant even clip rocket league in 1080p at 60fps on a $600 cad console, let alone 4k60…
Oh sorry I mixed things up. It had graphics modes exclusive to the One X enhanced version. But MHW indeed has an uncapped framerate on Xbox One S.
(The Series X will always just play the One X enhanced version, when there's no native next Gen Version available.)
Your Series X clips will always be in 60fps. The resolution of your TV does not impact performance.
The console will always render 4k internally, even on lower TV resolutions. It will just be downscaled on smaller TVs
Here's how it looks on Xbox One S. Always 30fps regardless of resolution.
And here's Xbox Series X. Always 60fps regardless of resolution.
I captured both clips from the consoles directly and transfered them.
@main wasp that’s perfect thank you
So on a 4k60hz tv I should be able to clip in 4k60fps right?
Yes.
I have “game clip resolution” in 4k SDR
If I click the share button on my controller it will take a screenshot in 4k SDR however holding it will clip in 1080 I’m not sure why
And my “minute long” clips are always 43-ish seconds
You can change the resolution to 4k here.
Screenshots are always in full resolution, regardless of clip resolution settings
Good to know, not sure why my game clips are in 1080 though…hopefully it’ll fix itself
Maybe I have to restart my Xbox I don’t know what’s up, thank you though
Which console are you on?
Xbox SX
Yeah, if it's set to 4k it should definitely work on there.
Odd, ill play around with it hopefully it works
