Hello, I have an issue on my series s where I seem to be missing 102gb of storage.
Now I recognise that the OS is installed and that brings the 512gb storage to 364. Fine.
But my console has 243.6gb of games and apps installed, no captures or shrinkable/left over games. Yet it's telling me I've used 345.6gb worth of storage. When I go to uninstall literally everything on the internal storage it only says that I have 243.6 worth of things I have installed.
Please. Where is my missing 102gb of storage

Have you used Dev Mode by any chance? That reserves "hidden" storage and won't show in your storage settings.

I might have, how would I go about undoing that?

#

As it turns out no

#

I've not had it in dev mode

That's odd. Are there any other users on the system that might still have saved captures etc.? They won't show when you're signed in to your profile.

No It's just the one account

do u have any dlc installed?

Really weird. This was a new console you set up by yourself?
If nothing helps and you can't figure the source out, I'd suggest a full factory reset. All your saves are automatically stored in the cloud so you won't lose anything.

Guys. Its solve

trail hatch
#

what was the cause?

sweet plank

Games obviously have a reserved space right, so as it turns out if you move games from your internal storage to external storage the reserved space remains taken up on the internal storage.

trail hatch
#

oh right quick resume

#

forgot about that

sweet plank
#

If you look at the games stored on your external it states that the reserved space is also saved to the external drive.

#

Maybe an oversight by Microsoft.

glossy fox
#

If you copy games to an external drive it will be saved on both. Use the "move" option to transfer it over and keep it on one device only.

sweet plank
#

Never copied a game, only ever moved.

Games on external drives can also have DLC on internal storage. This is inteded as well. You can sort everything to your needs

trail hatch
#

keep only optimized games on internal and everything else on external

sweet plank
#

It's just silly how it states that the reserved space is also taken up on the external.

Glad your problem is solved though. Enjoy playing!
