My controller turns on but when i press buttons or move joysticks, nothing happens

my controller was working fine until my mom called me and since i didnt wanna get removed for inactivity in the game i was playing, i took my controller with me, but when i went farther away, the controller stopped working and now the headphones i plug into said controller dont work either, the controller still turns on but when i press buttons or move joysticks, nothing happens, not even pressing the xbox button works

have you tried just turning off the controller by holding the xbox button for 10 seconds and turning it back on?

try doing the same thing, but after it turns off, plug it into the xbox and turn it on that way

before the situation happened, they werent low or anything

well try it and if it still doesnt work then swap the batteries back to the old ones
