My Xbox tends to run warm (yes, I clean it. It’s how they run I guess) and I’ve seen lots of people talk good about this fan by g-story on Amazon. Nothing but good reviews, mostly. I just wanna be sure it’d be safe to use before I bought it. That is unnecessary

#

I’d actually go so far as to say that that could actually damage your Xbox

Damn, really?

#

My mother almost WANTS me to get it because the heat of my Xbox that it throws off over the course of the day warms up my room

Your Xbox has a fan built in designed to run at specific speeds at specific temperatures. If you start putting fans on top that make it spin differently it could over time damage the built in fan.

Interesting

#

That sucks

#

Is it normal for the Series X to run warm?

#

I mean it is a powerful console I just feel like the built in fan doesn’t do enough lol but I’m probably wrong

Yes. It is a computer.

yeah is normal

If it was overheating it would shut off and the next time you turned it on it would explicitly say that it turned off due to heat issues.

Unless I used some sort of thermal gun or whatever they’re called I can’t

grim dagger

If it crashed and didn’t give you a thermal error message when you restarted then it in fact did not crash due to heat lol

#

It is a computer it can get very hot.

Well good to know

#

I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t too hot

I have good airflow on all sides, I make sure not to keep the backside too close to the wall so it gets into the back
