I'm trying to connect to our home internet (which we have been using for about 9 months) on my Xbox One X. After putting in the password, which was correct, the screen reads: "Can't connect to the Internet." Underneath it says: "If you have a PC, try to connect to the Internet on it. You may have to work with your Internet service provider (ISP) to fix your connection." This makes no sense as I have connected to this very Internet connection before on the same Xbox. It just happened out of the blue. All devices in my household are fine with this Internet, including my Windows laptop, so we know it is a thing with my Xbox and not my ISP.
Any advice or reasoning would be appreciated.
Thanks. EDIT: FIXED the problem was the internet which we had accidentally paused specifically for the xbox. one click in the app and it was all fixed.

Okay now real question have you tried turning it off and on again after connecting so hold the power button until it's completely off unplug the back of your Xbox for about a minute plug it back in and turn it on
This isn't a joke question it's a legit question my brother had this issue once and so did my dad and this fixed it
A alternative solution would be Ethernet cable which actually would kill all the hastle of this happening and increase internet speed I have to do it with my PC actually
If this doesn't work you can try unplugging your router for 30 seconds and plugging it back it could also be a router issue
I have not done the ethernet solution but I tried the other two and they didn't work. thanks for trying to help though
Have you considered a factory reset? I had a similar problem on an XBOX Series X.
@gaunt glacier are you checking your own thread?
i got slightly sidetracked
what does a factory reset entail
ooh the restoration seems tedious
did it take long to get everything back? @dusty orbit
At least on the XBOX series, you don't have to erase your game installs so there's that.
yeahhhh not the same with one x
It just restores all the settings to factory default and clears the cache and stuff like that on Series. IDK why or how but my settings got messed up such that I could not connect via any form of internet. Ethernet, WiFi, all the same. Factory reset got me back up and going in well under a half hour, BUT that's with my games staying intact.
Do you have a big USB drive? Then you could send your games there while you do this.
you can actually keep your data and games and still reset on xbox one. dont know what else it erases tho
Nothing like, important. Saves are in the cloud.
Think about it, what is even on there that isn't tied to your account?
The games you wanna keep because it's a pain in the butt to redownload mostly.
internet issues so dumb
Factory resets are exactly the same between One and Series X|S
FIXED. actually to do with the internet. we had it paused for whatever reason in the internet company's app specifically for the xbox. we just had to resume it and it was fixed
