#X-Box One refuses to apply update

I have an X-Box One and I overfilled it with games, causing the internal hard drive to be completely filled up. There was a firmware update I was supposed to apply to it and unfortunately while it did download and install, it cannot apply the download. I can't factory reset it because every time I try to it just goes back to the install screen and tries to apply the update and it fails. I don't really care if I lose everything on the system and I've tried numerous ways of restarting, resetting and factory reset the console. It always goes back to the install page when I do this, the apply percent goes anywhere from 10-16% then stops and gives me an error. So I don't know what to do now. At this point I am considering throwing this away and getting a different refurbished X-Box One, as I cannot afford a Series X. Does anyone know any way of being able to factory reset the console or at least be able to remove something from the hard drive so it can apply the update? I don't know what to do, but buying a new console is my last resort and I really don't want to do that.

The hard drive been full will not effect the install off a console update. The drive space is just for games and apps only. The xbox will automatically save space for the OS this is one of the reasons why you never get full use of a drive.

When it applies the update what error does it give you?
