#How do I enable an open NAT connection?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
double nat connection means that your network is been double filtered this could be down too your ISP or it could be down to how you have your network set up
I’m trying to access my isp’s website page now but it’s just continuously loading
you need too take that up with your ISP
Before you do anything with your network settings you should find out what kind of device you have to connect. Because most of the time a double nat is because your using 2 routers or a gateway and a router. Or some kind of goofy set up/setting
I think I have a gateway router setup
so you only have one deivce your not using anything else with it ie its a all in one
the next step if you do have a all in one device would be too factery reset your router too defalt settings ie to wipe any goofy settings you have done
You then need too find out if you have a public IP address or a private IP address and the page above explains how to do this and what that means
that's a dangerous statement all on its own without noting:
write down every setting, especially if their are any usernames, PPPoE, etc settings configured on that device
factery resetting your router too defaults shouldnt cause to much issue
but sure its a valid point
I cannot find it
what can you not find your following the steps on the page. I assume your reading it?
I can’t find the public and private ip instructions on the page above
Sign into your router setting and find where the IP is you may just have too look around because every ISP/router is different but it likely be under WAN
where is my router setting?
have you logged into your router?
How
okay i thought you were already loged into it the way you were talking at the satrt . If you do not know how to log into your router then contact your ISP
What do you mean logging into the router
Do I change the router to bridge?
@atomic sphinx
you can try that but you need too connect with a cable
your looking for your routers ip address.
Connecting what with a cable?
the xbox
what cable do I need
Ethernet i think you should connect your ISP. I not bee horrible or rude so please dont take this that way. But if you do not know what cable you need too connect something too a network you should not be playing with router settings at all
People in general chat said I do not need a cable to have a open nat for xbox
you dont
Then why are you telling me I need one
because you said about bridge mode
Bridge mode will turn your router into a modem and will not have any wireless features.
Okay how could I enable open nat without a cable
I found the page with my ip but it has 0.0.0.0
that isnt your IP you need too contact your ISP at this point as I explained how to do this. But you cant find the setting. You clear do not understand what that page your logged into is or what the settings mean or do. So please contact your ISP for support
@timid elbow
what
Can you help me enable a open nat
based on some of the previous answers and questions, I absolutely agree with paul that you need to be contacting your ISP or whoever manages your home network
