#Xbox One S- no signal on TV - Turns off after 30sec automatically

u mean its not displaying on ur tv?
Yeah, it doesn't put anything on the screen and then turns itself off after about 30 seconds
ok does tv work regularly?
It does. To reiterate, the xbox and tv were working perfectly fine for hours today. I restarted my console by turning it off, unplugging it, plugging it back in, and then turning it back on. That is when I started having the issues described
did u use another hdmi cable?
I havent but the hdmi cable I use is a high performance one that is still fairly new
check if its the hdmi cable since u said that xbox and tv are working fine. so it might be the cable
is the console atually turning off or is the picture just not dispalying when the console is on.
If its turning off its isn't a HDMI issue but power so the console would need to be replaced
I turn the xbox on and it makes the power on sound and the light comes on but nothing goes to the screen and the xbox turns back off around 30 seconds or so after power on
yeah so a power issue have you tried a other socket? change the fuse?
Xbox One S- no signal on TV - Turns off after 30sec automatically
I have the xbox plugged into a power strip/surge protector. Should I try a different port on the strip?
Microsoft advise not too use a surge protactor or power stip with the console.
the console as a surge protactor in it
I just plugged it directly into a port on my wall and the issue persists
Yeah so unfortually its dead and needs replacing/repairing
My advise would not to use a power strip or surge protector as that can cause issue over time
So id be looking at getting a new internal power supply then?
No parts in the console are designed to be replaced by the user. You would have to buy a new console or take it too a place that can.
Since microsoft do not repair them anymore your option maybe just to replace it
Here’s an update from my situation yesterday. I took apart my Xbox and spent the whole day troubleshooting only to find out that the issue was that my internal ssd had actually died on me and so I have ordered a new one and replaced it. My Xbox is working perfectly fine now 😁
Thank you for your help @opal crown @rare cloak
What's the SSD???
The SSD that broke on me after only a month or so was a 1tb Silicon Power A-55
I have since replaced it with a 1tb crucial SSD and I’m back up and running now. Are you having the exact same issue I was?
Well he just broken tos if he has taken apart his xbox
For this server or Microsoft and Xbox?
Wow, okay
I wouldn't know, because I've never taken mine apart before
Me neither.
But honestly, kinda sad that Microsoft doesn't allow people to take their Xbox consoles apart for repair...
Becuase xbox is prieriority with microsoft. And yes xb1 all have mechanical drives search on Wikipedia
And if they mess it up its on the player/owner not microsoft/xbox
Besides unless u find a dealer than can fix at ur xbox own risk to ur xb1 cause microsoft dont do repairs on xb1 anymore
I mean if the player is just messing around it makes sense.
I've had my Xbox One for about 12 years and coincidentally enough, Surround and I both had the same issue at the same time.
But I'm just replacing my console, I personally don't want to be taking a console apart.
Getting a series console?
No, I don't like the Series S, because it has no disk drive and I would rather get the same kind I had before
And I feel like the Series X would be too large for me
First party as well a lot major triple a devlopers have stop development 4 xb1 games
I don't mind much
I only really play Fortnite, Minecraft, and LEGO games on it
So u play on physical disc games
Mostly, other than Fortnite obviously
I gave up on disc since 2019
I have a series x i never use the disc thing. I only got cause of better cpu and everything plus playing 4k on my 4k monitor
Just made sense for me to do it myself since Microsoft doesn’t do repairs to them anymore and I’m an IT major so I’m always taking things apart and messing around with them haha
Not everyone is a tech guy or girl who knows how to so it
