I’m playing on a launch Series X, controller, and a wired Xbox stereo headset. Randomly and often, my Xbox headset audio and mic will just cut out. But not solidly. It’s like it’s a bad connection between the console and the headset. It happens while I’m not moving and leaving the controller on the table. It’s not the plug/jack. I’ve also tried other controllers.
Has anyone else expierenced this?
Something else I’ve noticed is it only happens in game. Not in menus. While I’m in voice chat or not. Maybe something to do with the chat mixer?

Updates- Still no real fix. It'll work on my PS5 wireless controller, and it'll work with my Xbox controller if i have it plugged in via USB-C. It was having the issue across multiple games. I deleted diablo, took a break and came back around 12am EST, and i wasnt having issues. I'm going to try again today after clearing out some space on the internal drive. Will update later

I am currently experiencing something that sounds similar to this. The audio will cut in and out really fast and sometimes lasts 10-30 seconds. I've tried the next and old gen controllers and still no luck. Did this ever fix for you?
Also tried different headsets and still having issues

OH so I went into my WiFi router settings and changed the channel of the WiFi in my house
