Hi! A few days ago my controller stopped connecting to my Xbox and when it did, the Xbox button would flash and my controller's Xbox button would flash many times too.

My controller then vibrated twice and died. I kept it charging for a while and then switched off my Xbox and unplugged every wire from it for 3 minutes and powered it back on. I cleared its cache and tried to use AA batteries instead of my rechargeable battery.

I keep checking on it just in case it miraculously works lol because some reddit posts say that they just waited for an hour or 2 and it worked.

I had updated my controller a few days before this happened too so I don't know whats wrong.

Also the same thing happened with my other controller, flashed and vibrated and died. Now the letter buttons on both won't work.

I've ordered a replacement and it's coming in a few days, but I can't help but think that I should somehow fix these. How can I?

TL;DR
Both controllers flashed multiple times, vibrated twice and died. Tried multiple things - cleared cache, unplugged all wires for 3 minutes, used AA batteries. What can I do to fix them?

I have an Xbox 1S btw!

Also, the controllers would spam A even if I wasn't touching the button. And everything else about the controllers is fine, it's just the letter buttons now.

Maybe your controller is broken.

How long have you had it for and have you did any damage to your controller?

I've ordered a replacement but I don't want these 2 to go to waste :(

Have you tried connecting the controllers wired to test if it is a battery issue?

# unkempt shoal I've had it for like 6 years now and it's had no problems at all until now even ...

If you drop your controller it can cause stick drift/buttons jammed. You had the controller for 6 years I suppose you have dropped it a lot and this is coming from my knowledge, I don’t know if the controller cant go any longer since Is been 6 years and the controller would get rusty and broken easily (mainly it would be the controller becoming sensitive). Best option is to order a new controller since that controller is no use anymore and have to accept that your current controller is broken.
