Controller lights on but the controller is completely unresponsive

What is your issue? Be specific. If your issue is with an Xbox console, please include which model and what your OS version is, as well as if you are in an Xbox Insider Program ring. If your issue is on PC, please include relevant versions (Windows version, any version information for specific apps in question, etc).
What troubleshooting have you tried? Please list everything you have attempted.
Have you researched your issue on the internet? If so, what results have you seen and tried?
If no to 2 and/or 3, please start there.

I’m having the same issue

My headset wasn’t providing audio and when I tried to take the adapter out I took off the cover and the batteries fell out

When I put them back in and turned it on it just wouldn’t work

Press the Connection button on both the controller and Xbox and try to reconnect it.

I unplugged my Xbox and plugged it back in and everything was fixed 😐

Ya that was gonna be my next fix was to hard restart your Xbox. Glad its working again.
