One said download the 6gb one
Other one however, said to download a 110mbs file

You're not reading the instruction that were linked then.

It says, download the update file. THen it says to save it to your PC. Then it says to COPY THE CONTENTS OF THE ZIP FILE TO THE ROOT DIRECTOY OF THE DRIVE

THere is 1 zip file. That zip file contains 1 folder called $SystemUpdate. That folder goes on the root of your USB drive. It will have a plethora of files in it

That's is putting the folder on the root of the USB drive

Depending on how long your console has been offline and out of date, you may have multiple.

Games also have updates that need to be installed and are separate from the system updates.
