Hi,

I accidentally dropped my xbox while the HDMI port was plugged in, and there is physical damage. However, the port works fine with my TV, but not for my monitor.

Is there any solution to this or not?

My TV looks fine but my monitor isn’t, and my monitor works fine with my laptop with the same cable

If your xbox was connected to your monitor, then the monitor may have been damaged too when the cord was yanked on it.

so

  1. xbox, cable, monitor = doesn't work
  2. xbox, cable, tv = works
  3. laptop, cable, monitor = works

and in each of those the cable is exactly the same and for steps 1 & 3 you're using the exact same input on your monitor?

the xbox, cable, monitor works

bunch of red lines/black lines

right, that's the original picture.

that very much is the classic sign of damage.

It is

the fact that 1, 2, 3 are all true is weird.
but since you already noted that "there is physical damage" to (something?) I'd just chalk it up to 'somethings broken' lol

#

i can't tell you if your xbox or your monitor is broken since you say both the xbox and the monitor work otherwise, but .... something is and needs to be repaired

yes, so something is broken and needs to be repaired

it looks like this

#

well similar to this

earnest plover
#

that's super broken and needs to be repaired

no way those pins are totally pointing crazy and could easily be making improper contacts with the cable

dense belfry
#

well, the most of the pins are intact

oh okay, well then it is mostly super broken and needs to be repaired
