so... I'm trying to play a game through the Xbox Companion App when it says, "We couldn't connect to your console. Make sure the console is still on and connected to the same network as this device. About half the time, it successfully connects, it just refuses to stream. Xbox support wasn't much of a help, so I'm hoping you guys will.
(probably should put this here, it's an Xbox 1)
#Xbox Console Companion won't let me connect to a console that I've connected to multiple times

The Console Companion was discontinued ages ago. You need to use the XBox App which is currently in Beta.
I was able to use Companion not a few months ago. Also, Xbox App just crashes whenever I open it
All I get is a black screen with the Xbox logo before it crashes
Not sure how you were able to use COmpanion when they literally deleted it.
what do you mean?
Console Companion was replaced with XBox App. It no longer even exists.
and like I said above, I can't even enter the Xbox app
it just crashes
I'm re-installing it to see if I can launch it after
yeah... I don't know what it's doing
it still won't launch
yeah... I don't know what to do
The Console Companion app is still available. However, it is no longer supported and any bugs that exist are not likely to get fixed. I am pretty sure the streaming functionality broke within the last few months, but there are no plans to fix it.
oh
