My controller won't let me select anything, I've tried turning off my xbox and turning it back on, Ive tried unplugging my xbox for 5 min and turning it back on, Ive tried to connect my controller via USB, and I've tried replacing the batteries.

that would be wise because you then know if its a falut with the controller or something else

Make sure the controller is updated if possible too
