Almost every game comes out the day before release if you're central or pacific.

It goes off eastern time at midnight, which is 11pm central or 9pm pacific.

In the library it will just have the regular gears icon I'm pretty sure. If the ultimate page says installed and the website says you have GP ultimate then you're good to go when launch time comes

Developers are told to use it, but most just set it to when the game can load the menu.

A few games will actually take you to something playable. The first Battlefront game loaded in a match you could play as Vader, for example.

They did apparently work on a more intelligent 'fast start' but I don't know if that ever expanded to all games or not. I just wait for the game to fully install before I do anything.

I think I got lucky with the $2 upgrade yesterday. I Just renewed my Gold and then decided on the $2 tor 2 months. They canceled my good and upgraded my to ultimate . Seems good so far except I just purchased a few games lol. I'll just see if I can get reimbursed. No big deal really

But anyway, some points and then I'll leave.

Diversity in games could be better (obviously).
Diversity in the Xbox Game Pass lineup could be better.
Xbox cares about diversity and if you don't believe that, then you've missed many, many public statements and demonstrations of intent.
We are only able to put third party games on Game Pass that are added in agreement with third parties.
We aren't not going to put Microsoft games onto game pass.
"Rubbish" is a relative term, but you have way more gamerscore in that game than I do, so I'll have to take your word for it.

And before someone calls me out for having rose-tinted glasses (again): I actually missed out on this one during the original xbox era.

Bought it when it first dropped as part of xbox one backwards compatibility and was worth it at fullprice. Game looks stunning as well on my base Xbox One console!

Also the story is standalone so you don't need to have played the sega saturn installments (although if you ever wanted to: 1 is an unlcokable in this game!)

fair enough, again seldom is a game for everyone but the beauty of gamepass is that you can at least experience it for yourself.

While games sometimes don't do themselves justice solely with the beginning part: it's enough just taking that step to expand on you pallet/tastes/appreciate from afar if you know what I mean.

And shenmue is super aquainted tastes, esp. 1 which is very different to 2 and the upcoming 3. With it being the first 3D openworld game of it's time: it's comes with a lot of quirks of which 20 years later: we've seen refinements of.

It creates a marmite situation where some people it's too different and others it's a refreshing change from how many modern openworld games play.
