Alrighty, I am fairly new this season to Rdruids, I am a night elf on Emerald Dream.
My issue is that in 2v2, I seemingly struggle to survive, even when I run defensive talents.
Currently I am in 1500cr and have about 435ilvl.
When an enemy sits on me, just 1 DPS, it is a matter of time before I die unless I can kite efficiently.
I run Bear affinity and take all defensive talents but I continually seem to die much faster than the enemy healer in almost all respects.
My partner is 2k xp and is a Havoc DH and he does excellent.
I also do not have many essences and the one's I do have are rank 1. Do you think it is mainly something I am doing or perhaps just my gear??

to expand even at 1500 ur fighting ppl with 475 ilvl so gonna be a challenge no matter what, more ilvl = more stats overall.
in my resto set at 470 ilvl i have 20% haste 20% mastery 11% vers without any stat modifier corruption, so that'll help by default with increased healing and survivability.
hard to say anything else without seeing footage but in general you shouldnt be dying to range dps ever unless you just get fire mage bracered xd. vs melee you can take conflict major for more vers in stuns and entangling bark to help kite / time clones off of. watch minpojke / gorecki druid vods to learn positioning / efficient kiting as rdruid @tawdry wren

yes @opaque lichen formerly knows as trash buffing before using the "important spell" like thorns. also good to use them during enemie cooldowns. you can. use throns when a warrior uses his "big mortal strik" on you for example. he will most likely try to do damage despite of the thorns because "he used his cooldown on you"

-thorns are a magic buff that u put on a target
-they deal magic damage scalling with your main stat, with internal CD (as far as i know its 1 sec)
-they are slowing ppl that melee attack, and deal dmg to them
-they can be purged by priest/shaman/mage(can spell steal them)/warlock's felhunter/specific hunter pet(they almost never play this one)/Demon hunter (with 10 sec cd on the purge)/blood elf 2 min cd
-they can be reflected by warriors reflect, so when u have thorns up - they have reflect u are taking the thorns damage, they can also be reflected by touch of karma(ww monk) = they can karma and hit into the thorns
-u can cancel them yourself even if u are in CC
the purge is random, it will remove one random magic buff that is present on you/target

I fend to get run at, then stunned, then I go into bearform to survive their damage but I can't get away from anyone since I'm slow and they just run me down. If I leave to heal myself I die too.

You can also sneak bases by root beam> capping. If they have no trinket they can’t stop it. Also clone> cap. Just make sure you are in range if the flag first as you can’t move
If you get good at it you can even clone a melee and root beam a caster/pet and cap on 2 people if both trinkets are down

I'm completely new to arena as a whole, and want to learn it as it looks really fun. I know that its super hard to get into arena in 8.3, with essences, the cape, corruptions etc, but I'd like to at least learn at a lower level, so once shadowlands come out, its hopefully a little easier to get geared.
I have been trying to learn resto, but it seems really hard to start with. There are so many things you have to be aware of, macros, and keybinds you need to be fully comfortable with.
I like the idea of learning to heal later down the road once I have the basics down, so I was wondering which of the other two options I should learn with, boomy or feral. All the azerite pieces have really good traits for both, just wonder which is better and easier to learn. Thanks

If you have 300 ilvl then you aren’t trying at all. Most world quest gear gives you 400+. Spend 30 minutes in nazjatar and you can buy benthic gear or go to AH and buy a set of 400 ilvl pieces for pretty cheap
Doing the quests to get your cape will get you a few 425+ items as well

FF reminds me alot of marked for death so i'm actually more used to that than BT - but am willing to learn bt if its a stronger rotation. I had assumed that FF became the better choice w/ 3x IJ since it would give u a really strong set up similar to the kidney mark envenom

Also mass root is nice af against melee comps and dh in general
Also rake stun into burn cc is nice pressure stop and csn get bolts off

I have run RBG's for the past 4-5 weeks. I usually get 3-5 games in per week. There are groups and communities still active but no where near the numbers that we have seen in past seasons and expansions. There are people running YOLO's just to try and cap each week but most of the people that do run try to be somewhat coordinated and use voice coms. B-Net tag networking really does help too.

Not sure about that. There are people/groups and communities out there that are just looking for GG's. You might run into some people that take themselves too seriously but those are easy to identify rather quickly. They can be easily avoided with with the smaller player pool.

Newer players to PvP looking to get CnS ranks will never run into those people. Those that do have been around long enough to know the difference or know better can avoid them as well except for maybe as an opponent. I wish more people would lean towards RBG's but I understand why it is losing participants at such a high rate.

I find that it is best to look for groups between 8pm CST and 10pm CST on Thursday, Friday or Sunday to avoid the more common Raid Nights. You might find some groups after those times but usually they start to wind down unless they are on a major winning streak or pushing to a certain rating.
Also while looking for groups make notes on who the group leaders are and over time you will start to recognize some names especially if you play against them in some matches. If they run a good group keep a watchful eye out for opportunities to join their groups.
