Works for awhile, then loses feed. What to do?

Can you ssh into the device and look at the System Info log?

Are you using an official Raspberry Pi power supply? If this is a DYI kit it should have come with one but the dual feeder kit it was optional.

Yes, the power supply came with the kit

Don’t know what ssh means

Is it connected to internet wired or wireless? Due to the metal cases they have a very limited WiFi range.

SSH allows you to access the Pi from another computer. You can use ChatGPT to help walk you thru SSH and it can also interpret errors or script to solve the issue. Just watch with the code it writes, it’ll take some time troubleshooting if your new to code

It’s literally sitting next to the router where the Wi-Fi originates

#

I have a service request in to ADSB Exchange. Maybe they can help me troubleshoot.

Have you identified it’s IP address on your WiFi network?

Can you be more specific by “loses feed” does it not respond at all, online by t not seeing aircraft? If it’s next to the router can you try a wired connection to rule out WiFi issues.

I will try a wired connection next

#

The ip address is the same as when I set it up

#

Sometimes I get green “connected” indications and sometimes red “not connected” indicators

where are you seeing these indicators?

If it's on https://www.adsbexchange.com/myip/, is it ADS-B or MLAT (or both?) that's sometimes not connected?

If it's the LEDs on the Pi, how many red blinks?

also assuming you're not using the temporary network that the adsbx image has the pi put out that turns itself off after like 15 minutes

I am no expert, but it looks like you are trying to access the local IP address from an different subnet. The feed UID you posted is currently active and appears to be passing data to ADSBx. It may be nothing more than not being able to reach the device from the same IP address range.

Indeed, it's probably fine. The "myip" page shows if there's a feeder active from the same public IP address as your browser. If you're at a different location, you're most likely not using the same public IP address (unless you have a VPN).

When you're back at the same location as the feeder, go to https://account.adsbexchange.com/ and link it (under "Receivers") (create an account if you haven't already). Once it's linked to your account, you'll be able to see it from anywhere, and be able to take advantage of the ad-free map.

Thanks to all. I may have jumped the gun by thinking it was intermittently going offline when it was not.
