Pretty soon I’m gonna have to start coming up with subclasses, I have a few basic ideas but nothing comprehensive or finished

idk why your Limbs with natural weapons on them have "Hit:" when thats not standard for a player. It should just tell you that its a natural weapon and what ability score it uses and if youre proficient in it

ASI wording for 2014 is:
"When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature."

I would actually remove some specialized Hybridization options and give your subclasses a special Hybridization. Like a spider subclass gains web, web sense, spider climb, etc. over the course of their subclass (with maybe spider climb and web sense just being always on)

Feel free to just copy/paste it over, butI tweaked a couple bits, and added a class table.

For the Hybrid Parts, I added a "parts save" so you can just have everything refer to that, and then did the first 2 parts in a cleaner layout.
Balance wise, cos that's all I have time for, the Tentacle given restrained on damage (so effectively on hit), feels like a lot - especially at first level.

So, basically - to enable choice.
You're a gribbly monster, but everything including big gribbly limbs were dex focused - by making it choose str or dex, my thinking was it opens up the option for a strength changeling, with strength attacks and such too

  • Shield prof is tied to medium armour prof, due to old system stuff. Doesn't hurt to give medium armour prof to even that out though. (especially being multiclassing this has med prof xD)
  • Saves are Strong + Weak, Dex + Con is Strong + Strong. Not sure which you want to change, prolly con, but not sure to what.
  • still the concern about restrained. it's a very easy "all your follow on attacks, and your parties attacks have advantage vs the target" feature.
  • Tremorsense is significantly stronger than darkvision - and if using, should be granted later.
  • +2 AC might be a bit much, +1 may be better.
  • burrow is not really suitable as a player facing ability. It wasn't designed as such, so the vague wording of the movement type allows a lot of abuse.
  • flexible mind should likely be "gain an additional reaction" to avoid any possible shenanigans with anything giving extra reactions (like the CR reaction focused monk, that gains PB reactions - combined with this, it'd have ~6-12 for example)
  • "number of combined traits and actions" doesn't mean anything mechanically - need to define that.
    There's certainly more, and wording stuff, but that's what leaps out to me on a first pass

Dex, Con,Wis are Strong (very good to have, more common saves)
Str, Int, Cha are Weak. (not as good to have, less common saves)
Class saves given are strong + weak, not strong + strong (or weak + weak)
Monstrous Detection grants it - Tremorsense lets you sense anything in 30ft that is touching any surface connected to you. So even invisible creatures, or through walls. - but I question why you're giving it if you don't know what it does?

the simplest thing - is just give a number. counting something as vague as "traits and actions" is gonna be weird, and lead to arguments and confusion.

Apparently wizard and Druid have the same save proficiencies so there’s a precedent for that. Dex and strength it is then

I’m trying to come up with a 20th level feature, as my current one doesn’t rly work well in practice. Any ideas?

Rn my only idea is 8 hybrid features at a time and 2 features sharing a part type at a time

nothing is original, homebrew is just different level of plagiarism and convergent development.
so long as you dont give anything earlier than raw, or more powerful than, then 0 issue.
You can give weaker earlier, or stronger later too - but that takes more care.

You can also equip additional limb body part type features, as well as an additional bonus feature for each body part type equipped. The total max amount of features that can be equipped at a time is now 5.
