I feel like thats a pretty bad selling point then, since this a full caster afterall and you dont really get incentive to go melee other than the very very basics

perhaps yeah, I think tbh from the start you should just be able to cast spells while in this form
its a gish subclass afterall, not being able to cast spells while gishing sounds odd

thats assuming the feature tbh is good enough to be level 18, imo its not really that big of a deal to be able to cast spells while in the partially beastified state
you are not a moon druid, so any other form would frankly suck to use in combat

to me the only really noteworthy benefit of the bestial soul feature is the temp hp generation, which imo is not worth the spell casting feature

i think its pretty cool
i like the idea of a sort lycan or half transformation idea for druid
though personally, I always thought that druid is a bit bloated due to already being a full caster so I always thought it would work better for its own class
Im personally working on a class called the changeling, its gonna be a primal half caster
