I think one of the biggest things holding OTG back right now isn’t gameplay — it’s communication.
A lot of players (including myself) genuinely enjoy the game and want it to succeed long-term, but the lack of clear updates, direction, or visibility on what’s coming next is starting to cause burnout and frustration.
Main points:
-
Regular Communication (even if small)
• Even short weekly updates would go a long way
• “This week we’re focusing on X” is enough
• Delays are fine — silence is what hurts momentum -
Roadmap / Forward Visibility
• Doesn’t need exact dates, just direction
• Example:
• Optimisation improvements
• New game mode
• New battle pass
• Skins / progression updates
• Gives players something to look forward to and keeps engagement high -
Dev Logs / Progress Updates
• Small dev logs would massively help
• Makes players feel like progress is actually happening
• Keeps the community connected to the build process -
Transparency with Changes
• Things like extending events/leaderboards without explanation feels bad
• Even a quick “why” makes a huge difference -
Feedback Loop on Suggestions
• The suggestions channel feels one-sided right now
• Even simple responses like:
• “Seen”
• “Considering”
• “Not planned”
would make people feel heard
⸻
Why this matters:
Right now, players aren’t leaving because the game is bad — they’re stepping away because they don’t know what’s coming or feel out of the loop.
Clear communication:
• Reduces burnout
• Keeps players engaged
• Helps new players stay
• Builds trust with the community

I think treating this more like a true early-access experience (with visible development and communication) would massively improve player sentiment — even if timelines shift.
Everyone just wants to feel involved in the journey 👍
