#Bring back Team Damage, Mutual Affects and Hazard Damage.

The friendly fire damage removed from the game serves to do nothing but put training wheels on mechanics people should control.
The same with mutual effects from limbs like debilitating or beneficial effects via proximity and contact.
__ It has introduced an unnatural way to address a natural concern with magical immunities that should of been chalked up to a skill issue, double edge swords are needed in gameplay to enrich the experience and promote thought not dumb down a game that perceives itself to be competetive __

The following limbs/effects should affect all players friend or foe, some of them were removed to put Training Wheels on community use who griefed through poor gameplay or complained through being collateral damage to their applications from themselves and other players.

  • Explosive Damage (Tripmines, Bouncebombs, Javelina, Skunkpaw detonation and Thumpers)
  • Skunkpaw Poison should poison everyone apart from user
  • Burn damage should affect all (Phosfur Fury, Slugger ignition)
  • Slugger effects should hit team
  • Slamfist friendly fire (yeah I said it)
  • Paralyzer EMP effect should affect every player apart from user
  • Shield Reflection Damage hits teamates too (you should be in the front anyway not behind team)
  • Painkilla heals and revival effects heal and revive enemies too but only highlight on map for friendly units
  • Fall Damage/Wall collision (Uncontrolled stun landings, high momentum direct downward landing, High Speed directional wall collision)
  • And this is a stretch but Friendly Fire for guns as well should be experimented with.

Burn damage does affect everyone
Phos is equal opportunity damage ..
Idk where it "perceives itself competitive" tho..
Because the sweats have run nearly every casual player out of the game by NOT staying in ranked XD
You have to coddle a lil or the player base will continue to dwindle
Don't get me wrong I do to an extent agree especially with the momentum damages.. I find myself always popping off walls and popping my jetpack just before ground even with no consequences
But also think this is a world where the technology would be available to autoroll auto jump off of walls and give teammates fart immunity...
Hell just look at videos of new irl military technology and their IFF tech... Follow that with nanites in the blood programmed to protect from your teammates ill timed fart... Mines the same way . The lasers wouldnt break for teammates because of IFF tech.. tho bombs should like phos does.. javs as well and while they shouldn't be able to trip the mines.. having somebody within their range of explosion irrespective of team... because it would be difficult for me to conceive of a way to protect from friendly explosive damage in those cases, though not impossible considering technological acceleration

While I can see the arguments for both sides I am inherently against it mainly because the game is dying in terms of player base and making it even harder would continue that slide...

Maybe as a compromise you "competitives" could set these settings in custom lobbies or even have them in ranked and leave us casuals trying to have fun alone?

I see the thoughts here @magic fiber but I also see how hard that would be to understand and conceptualize as a newbie.

If the mechanics were team damage and whatnot like you stated I think it would greatly decrease the new players experience.

Being stuck in a slugger when you first use it to see how it works and killed by a teammate on purpose or accident would make me personally say “this game is toxic” and not play again

I do see how you’re saying it dumbs it down when OTG is meant to be crazy, cybernetic, and competitive.

In the future I would like to see those changes maybe in a ranked or tournament mode and casual mode not be affected.

We have seen comp and casual loot pools be different in other BR titles but that would mean 2 codings for those limbs across multiple modes which I assume is a nightmare to work.

Also I unfriended many people who only used Bouncebomber and tripmine because they killed me on accident so many times.

IMHO I would hate team damage. But I understand your logic.

I just noticed there were a LOT more players when I started playing eight months ago than there are now

I would take it returning for ranked, But honestly a lot of the magical immunities still bug the hell out of me, griefing is in every game and shouldnt be combatted by remove team damage on explosions fire etc to avoid it, just punish excessive team damage with poorer match making and timeouts etc.

I shoot an enemy tripmine and the other tripmines survive as its friendly. Bouncebomb users just point blank insta detonate on people and survive their own blast etc Watered down OTG got out of hand a while ago and has become a slippery slope.

I write all this as a want for the game as a whole more than the insant now. OTG seems to be overaccomodating and its becoming bizzare.

I would like those to be tweaked in some of the ways you mentioned yes.

I just think some people new to OTG may be their first time in a shooter in years.

Hopefully in time new limbs will provide counters to hazard/projectiles etc prompting safer return of these things.

We still dont have a FCS or Counter Projectile Destruction limb yet

Was brainstorming with someone who loves ARC about a flare type limbs that scrambles mini maps and sets missle like javelinas or thumpers to miss where they were targeting.

Great idea but coding I’ll leave to someone who can do math 🤣
