So you basically knocked the teeth out of all the single-target arms - Mines, Hook, Ripper, BB, even Buzzkilla.
Maybe that would’ve made sense back in Dec 2024. But with the current TTK, all this did is make those arms borderline useless: using them actively lowers your output because they prevent you from dealing higher DPS with your actual weapons.
And those were at least skillshots.
Instead, you’ve pushed the meta toward multiple AoE buffs/debuffs that are now staples. They alter entire fights and battlegrounds while requiring close to zero tradeoffs - because the optimal play is basically to spam them on cooldown.
As a result, the odds of a casual trio beating pros went from “already negligible” to “basically sub-1%.” And in pro-only lobbies, being outnumbered is now effectively insurmountable, which kills both excitement and the potential for real comeback moments.
Honestly, the only reason fights are still happening is because most people aren’t playing with strict “game theory” incentives. Otherwise, 99% of a match would be spent sitting inside Arc Shields instead of… what, 75% right now?
Watching this play out feels like boring WoW raid prep:
“Druid buffs? ✅
Paladin buffs? ✅
Priest buffs? ✅
Alright, now we can fight.”
For a dynamic shooter, that’s grotesque.
Right now it’s completely polarized:
• Arc Shield usage: ~100%
• Kinetic Shield usage: ~0%
Same story across the board:
• 0% tripmines / PF / hooks / buzzkillas
• 100% recons (AoE), para (AoE), skunkpaws (AoE), painkilla (AoE), arc shields (AoE)
