#i cant afford to unlock hexcubes anymore, nor can i save up my gunz

after the price to open hexcubes was increases, i literally cant open most of my hexcubes anymore. i also cant keep any amount of gunz in my wallet because i go through all of it immediately opening what few hexcubes i can afford to open. i havent been able to open an epic hexcube since the start of the price increase. i cant even open all of my halloween event hexcubes, ive been slowly trying to open them little by little. this feels so dang terrible!! i have otg pro and i get an uncommon hexcube every day i login, i havent been able to open a single daily login hexcube because i simply dont have the gunz for it. i just have this ever growing stash of hexcubes (especially uncommon hexcubes because of the daily login reward for pro members) because i cant afford to open any of them.

not to mention being able to save up gunz so i can try to purchase things from the marketplace, forget that, i literally always have no gunz now because i spend every last gun i have opening hexcubes.

it gets even worse, i cant even sell any of my items because i dont have enough gunz to pay the new listing fee either. so i cant sell one of my high value items because the listing fee is so far out of my reach for everything i have that people would want to buy unless i am forced to sell them at way under current market value, which just feels terrible. and then i get punished further by losing the fee amount if no one buys it????? im sure the devs had a good reason for implementing a market listing fee, i dont mind that, but because hexcubes cost so much to open, i dont have enough gunz to do anything, i cant even sell a high value item to GET MORE GUNZ, which feels ridiculous because selling an item is supposed to be the best way to get a large amount of gunz fast.

i dont understand why they raised the prices for opening a hex in the first place, it doesnt seem like a system that could possibly be abused??????? but whats the point in extracting hexes in a match if i cant afford to open the ones i already have. i feel like a real major part of the gameplay loop has forever been closed off from me because i cant do the fun thing of "opening the shiny box to see if i get lucky" so why even try to extract in the extraction shooter anymore since i cant afford to open whatever i extracted in the first place.

please, make opening hexes cost a reasonable amount again, i literally cant afford to do anything in the game anymore. i honestly dont even understand why it costs anythign at all to open a hex, but i understand that someone makes money off of the hex opening fee, which is honestly fine, but it needs to be a reasonable ammount, ive got so many hexcubes piling up in my inventory THAT I WANT TO OPEN but cant afford to

# topaz geode Hey <@302952326715408387> just wanted to say thank you for the detailed feedback...

thank you, i also made several other posts today as well, i dont know if they are things that are on your radar as well but you might try to take note of them as well, as i personally think that at least 2 few of the other 5 posts (6 posts total i think?) are of a more serious variety and might need more immediate attention as well. i tried to give heavily detailed feedback on those posts as well

i think its struggling on a lot of peoples computers right now though, like its super unstable frame rates and runs super heavy, optimization needs to be a serious priority

#

i mentioned friends that arent playing right now because of aestetics anmd not having skins they like yet

#

but theres also friends that want to play it but cant because the game isnt playable on their computers

#

ive made posts in the past about the instability issues though

@past furnace I dont have any major stability issues on PC. Unless you are talking about Unreal Enging 5's random 20% FPS drops. If you would like some assistance teaking the PC and graphics I could help. Just shoot me a PM and a DXDIAG to start.

@past furnace Sure that's why it's commonly discussed with ue5 developers on the dev forums/discord and why this past UE5 5.6 focused on reducing that particular problem. In addition to that I didnt say it was the only problem either. So keep believing what you believe. By the way I retract my willingness to help but you chose to publicly try and shame me for it. Good Luck figuring out your issues on your own. 🫡🤦

The problem with unreal engine 5 isn't the engine, it's that most devs don't prioritize optimization early enough in the process of game development and literally make a near impossible task to go back and properly optimize their game so that it doesn't have frame rate problems, among other things, it's literally a user issue, not an engine issue. People are just too used to not prioritizing optimization until later in game development, and this is an issue in literally every other game engine as well, it is not unique to unreal engine 5 at all but because unreal engine 5 is so popular and used so much, it is seeing a lot more commotion even though you basically can't play a PC game that doesn't have the exact same issues regardless of the engine.

And by the way, a bunch of people whining in the forums does not constitute evidence, if you go to literally any forum for any service, you can quickly and easily find people whining about non-issues that are either entirely user caused or have fixes that have been out for a long time but the people are too ignorant to actually look into that fact and fix the problem they are having because they don't actually want to solve their issue, they just want to whine about the problem even when it's not a real problem
