The Promised Exclusivity (The Change of the battle pass terms)

In this thread, I want to raise concerns and get some answers about the silent change to the exclusivity terms for Battle Pass items in Off The Grid.

From the beginning, people were told that Battle Pass items and PRO Pack items were truly exclusive and would never drop again. Many invested in these items based on that promise, believing they were getting rare and limited assets.

Later, it was also stated that Retro and Legacy items would never be minted again, further reinforcing the idea that these were one-time-only drops with permanent scarcity.

Now, without any announcement or notice to the community, the terms have quietly changed. The new version says:

"Battle Pass Exclusive items can only be gained as Battle Pass Rewards and will not drop from regular HEXes. This exclusivity lasts for at least 90 days after the corresponding Battle Pass is over."

This means exclusivity is now temporary (90 days) instead of permanent — a major shift that changes the perceived value of those items.

The biggest issue is the lack of transparency.
These changes were made silently:

– Battle Pass items are dropping from HEXes
– Steam users have received previously exclusive items
– Retro, Legacy, and Convict sets are appearing again

Yet the community wasn’t informed.

Even now, if you check the Subscription Terms page (last updated March 4, 2025), it still says:

"Monthly Pro Pack: Each month, receive an exclusive OTG Pro Pack containing exclusive outfits, weapons and accessories."

"Battle Pass Access: Gain access to the current and future Battle Passes for Off the Grid while your subscription is active. Loyalty rewards get unlocked for every continuous subscriber from the second uninterrupted subscribed month."

No mention of the 90-day clause. No explanation whether the new rule applies only to new Battle Pass items or also to old ones. The word “exclusive” is still used, despite the changed reality.

So the questions are:

– Will this 90-day rule apply retroactively to old Battle Pass items?
– Is it legally and ethically acceptable to change terms after people already bought in?
– Can players still trust the word “exclusive” in this ecosystem?

Many couldn’t afford Closed Beta sets like Pioneer, Prankster, or Anarchist — so they invested into Battle Pass items, Convict, or Retro/Legacy sets believing they had lasting value.

These are some of the affected items:
Enforcer, Doomed Zero, Tagger, Templar, Kiiro Shinobi, Cybergoth, Mad Biker, Combat Maniac, Pacifist, Raverunner, Combat DJ, Cleanup Crew, Chemtech, Hopper Pilot, Red Ant, Anti-Cheat, Drone Operator, Zero Chill, Convict, Legacy, Retro, Loyalty items, event items

Can someone from the team please clarify:

– What is still truly exclusive?
– What’s not?
– And going forward, can players trust these terms?

This needs clarity — the sooner the better.

This is my thesis:

At the Steam launch, they suddenly released that, aside from the Pro and Battle Pass outfits, the free ones are low quality and limited — with very few options available.

New players were left staring at them like kids watching someone else eat ice cream.

This game has very poor organization. I don't understand why the team commits to deadlines — I’ve never seen them meet even one. Not even Vlad, who talks the most, ever follows through with anything. Everything ends up getting delayed, or they make changes on their own without notifying anyone, which is the worst part. We haven’t received any response on this issue, and it’s been over a week now. Same with the VASP license — it was supposed to be finalized months ago, and now we have no news at all.

The statement about convict came like last October November not too long after it released so in my opinion of course the pc community assumed convict was exclusive to them only but hey it it's what it is hell most people on opensea selling items for little to nothing unless it's pioneers gear or gold ltd iems so I don't see the bit fuss overall

is that this applies to Prankster and Pioneer, they were #1 and #2 of Battlepasses/content pack

per policy

Not good enough. Just cause you’re heavy on retro/legacies doesn’t mean it’s fine to let them off the hook with the BP items.

This whole thing is a kick in the balls to the community that spent so much time and effort collecting exclusive BP items under the impression that they weren’t coming back. Not once did they clearly state that they are coming back in hexes and the exclusive tag in the BP doesn’t translate to whatever this is.

‘Exclusive’ should mean only available in BP (or secondary mp), just like every single person in the community thought it did.

Solution: only introduce BP items into the hex pool that don’t have an exclusive tag. Or like what P1 said, use a retired tag as a guarantee that the item isn’t coming back.

Way too many question marks around this economy and item supplies which is stopping the whole ecosystem from flourishing..

Committed to the community ? Everything you guys have done has been in opposite of what the community wants. . . You yourself stated exclusives are exclusives never to be returned. This is crypto people investing money you don’t go against terms or information you give the people. If you decide to change this, you’d first update the terms and notify the people then do it on future bp not the past bps. Some transparency would help a lot(drop rates, what a hex could drop), i saw a lot of ppl lately with questions as where the avatar picture drop(only omni or customisation too), just an excel where it says what you can get from every hex in game.

You should consider publishing some sort of guide for rare items, if not you, pay youtubers to do it. There are just too many epic items, and buyers on opensea who haven't played the game or are latecomers but want to invest, won't do so based only on prices. The only thing they know is that the pioneer set is rare, and its items are already up the roof, so they find no motivation to buy the token and buy over appreciated pioneer items (based on the rest, prankster is -95% or more)
There's a significant discrepancy between mainnet and opensea prices because of this, and mainnet is catching up to opensea when it should be the other way around. Once the rest of the economy moves up, pioneer sets can continue to appreciate. This is also a way to thank the community, as most of us aren't pioneers but arrived shortly after.

And it is understood of course that you will stop making exclusive items unexclusive, or the whole economy slumps.
