So, probably a crazy hot take but something that would be canonically accurate and maybe a little fun to play around with, but what if when someone shoots your arms or legs, you don't take any HP or Armor damage? They aren't exactly body parts that affect your well-being anymore you know? They can't bleed like normal arms or legs and we already swap them out on a moments notice so they don't feel pain or anything..
So what if each cyber limb has its own regenerating HP bar (kinda like the player HP bar but maybe with a different timer?) so that they can Regen their damage after not taking damage for a while, (like they can repair itself) but that way they can accumulate damage in way that isn't frustrating so they don't break off at the start of the second fight you take, but if you are being chased, they can't Regen too quickly
And this way, the devs can tune the gameplay so that there are more meaningful stat dropoffs when you lose a limb, but you aren't losing HP so you still have a meaningful amount of time to fight back but you have reduced accuracy and more recoil to have to deal with, maybe bring back the dropping of the active gun or increased reload times because you have only one hand to reload with, there could be more meaningful negatives to losing a cyber limb because you didn't lose any HP so the downsides could be greater
This would also allow things like the ripper to have a more meaningful place in the games ecosystem without being a frustrating pain in the booty because it would no longer do ANY player HP damage but could instead a ripper hit could be a guaranteed (or maybe almost guaranteed) way to knock off a cyber limb, because it could be THE WAY to to try to get a recoil and accuracy advantage in a fight but since it would no longer do player HP or Armor damage, it wouldn't make it TOO easy to kill that target, and thus still have meaningful ways for the target to fight back
It would also allow the guns that are better at doing cyber limb damage (aka the woodpecker) to have a stronger place in the gun ecosystem because they could even have their cyber limb damage buffed even more since the cyber limb damage wouldn't affect player HP or Armor
So it could be a tactical move to takeout someones cyber limbs before going for the kill you know? It could also be fun for sniper players to takeout someones legs and then try to pick them off from afar while they try to crawl away
And for the most skilled and daring players, they could kill players by knocking off all 3 cyber limbs, instead of aiming for the head or body. It would be the ULTIMATE BM and it would be unique to OTG because no other game really does cyber limbs like this. (The new change that makes losing all cyber limbs result in death gave me these ideas)(Also currently it's near impossible to knock off 2 cyber limbs without also killing the target and that low-key makes me sad)
Anyways I thought this would be a fun and unique idea that would let the devs add back more meaningful penalties to losing cyber limbs while also removing the aspects that made it impossible for fighting back while it's happening
