This usually isnt't a problem for anyone invested enough to realize having +12 means no more wheels being locked. However there seems to be just so many new players who go "How do I mass unlock all my wheels to disassemble?" or "How can I automatically disassemble all wheels?"

Even though the disassemble R/SR wheels option is always on by default, new players don't see this and are at a loss once they are stuck at maxed wheel storage. It is not a good game experience to be pulling a lot just hit a cap on wheel storage. They shouldn't need to join a community to ask for a solution for something that should be basic.
I suggest reworking this into something more new player friendly. Something that they would understand how to do or at least not get in their way. Best if it guides the player towards ascending. We don't want players leaving due to simple inventory management.
Some options:
Simply removing automatic lock on R/SR wheels
Locking only the first copy of a wheel
Locking only 16 copies of a wheel leaving the rest unlocked
Adding an automatic "ascend" button that ascends all possible wheels at once, so new players realize this is the intended option
Removing ascension cost - new players realize it is free and would not spend their roses, since they have no feel for how much roses other mechanics cost in game yet
Incorporating ascension and explaining how auto-lock works in the tutorials
