Given the current landscape for the upcoming Steam OS on desktop, and the popularity growth of the Steam Deck (and hopeful downfall of Windows... copium boys, copium), having support for Linux, or at the very least compatibility with Proton, would help immensely the release of the game.
The most realistic option would be Proton, which lets the developers just have the normal Windows build running on Linux/Steam Deck through the compatibility layer.
Most anti-cheat systems has support for it, and specially with Unity, it isn't hard to have it working.
Girl's Frontline, Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, those all have working Proton compatibility, and are solid Unity-made games
