My journey started early in March, and after about a week of shinyhunting (really only like 50 resets in) I got this beauty on March 14th

Then today i got super excited over a shiny rat, of all things. This is she

These are the level they're at now. The Char is actually surprisingly good, and the rat lacks BFS but it has HB and exp+ will make it super ez to raise (once I get more dreamshards lol)

It doesn't take long to reset, but at 3 minutes per reset (which my time for them is at or a little under), that's ||22.5 hours to see 450 Pikachus||.

I strongly recommend not naming yourself a whole username. You can change your username later, and it shaves a tiny bit of time if you just name yourself one letter.

Also not bothering to set your actual birthdate, of course. Just scroll back far enough on the year bar that it'll know you're over 18. You've probably figured that out already.

Charizard is fast and cool, Blastoise is a really good ing mon with a pretty shiny color, and I'm fond of the Venusaur line and their yellow flower on the shiny. I might do more Charmander resets than the others, because, again, fast and cool, but I'm definitely doing at least some variation.

Dang, though. Time wasted aside, I really wanted that Pikachu. Between the sleep points you get as a bonus early on, and the fact that I think there are some handy candies waiting in the gifts thing to be claimed, I bet I could have gotten a Raichu pretty fast. And Raichu is so quick that even a bad one would have done decently well earlygame.

Also it's cool to have the very first 'mon caught be the shiny.

I honestly think using that seed on my Squirtle is a good play here. Ing magnet is a pretty good skill.

oh and I would like to state for the record that shiny Squirtle is very obvious even in the shell, especially when you have a second device to compare it to. Shiny Bulba is probably the most subtle of the three, and it's still not too bad.

At level 7, that's 890 strength/day on GG, ignoring meals. It's 1780 strength/day on Cyan.

Plus 13 milks, so we can add 2 of the milk-only dishes per day for the two meal categories that have those.

Rounding a tad, that means 1700 strength/day on GG, 2590 strength/day on Cyan. 11,900 strength/week for GG, 19,530 on C. For a sleep score anywhere from 80 to 100, that's a final sleep of 952,000 to 1,190,000 strength for GG, 1,562,400 to 1,953,000 for C. Which iiiiis... just barely 4 spawns on GG, or just barely 4 spawns on C.

The increased strength gotten by the Cyan favored berry is sort of balanced out by the higher rank required on Cyan.

Cyan means an increased chance of Squirtle candies, but it doesn't have Pichus. Therefore: dilemma.

I'll probably just alternate between the two islands once I unlock Cyan. Gives me a smidgeon of variety. In what I'll see next to my rats.

I'm trying to figure out which mon would be most useful to catch next. Onix would be really cool, since it's so fast right off the bat, but it's only on Taupe and also is at a higher level than I expect to be able to manage at any point even vaguely soon.

Well, yes, aside from "do I go to GG or Cyan", but I still like poking at these anyway.

Healer could be really cool, though without levels or seeds it might not quite manage to do better for the slot than something that produces more berries and ingredients directly.

I think the winner really is something in the Pikachu line. Raichu's speed and the lack of levels required to evolve it are huge points in its favor. Caterpie might be a runner-up, actually, since candies for them are plentiful and they evolve quickly.

One of the good ing mons with BFS and a little speed would be really nice, levels or no. BFS ing mons are great dual-purpose mons for when you don't yet need a comical number of ingredients. I'd love either of the two other starters, obviously, and a long-term goal for this account (impossible as it's going to be to aim for) is to have all three Kanto starters shiny.

Ah, actually- I think the winner is Eevee. Multiple no-level-required evos, and less need to worry about stats, since any half-decent set of stats will suit something in its line.

I’ve run the math on Squirtle. Or, Raenonx has run the math. Unfortunately Cyan’s higher strength requirements cancel out the boost Squirtle gets, and the pattern continues for Wartortle.

At least they only cancel out, so I won’t do worse on Cyan, I’ll just do the same.

This weekend should hopefully get me just about enough exp to evolve my Rattata as soon as I get enough candies. Which I imagine will be soon, given, y’know, Rattata. I did buy a growth incense from the shop to use on the 13th for that extra, what, 300 exp?

And I'm not gonna toggle off the gold skills for Bulbasaur and Charmander, because BFS on an ing mon makes a great dual-purpose mon and HB is of course great in general.

Well- might toggle off one of them if I get to FL40, but IMO having the first slot be a guaranteed gold skill for an ing mon isn't a terrible thing.

Went and put my lil guys into that candy calculator thing. Looks like I'll need 220 candies to get my Wartortle to level 27 so it can evolve, or 300 to get it to 30 and unlock cocoa. Or I can use 250 candies to get my Raticate to 30 and unlock soybeans.

I don't think I'll be able to get 100+ candies for either in the next week and a half, so I'm not gonna manage either of those with the double candy exp thing, but let's see how much of a dent I can put in that.

Right now, I can do apple dishes, milk dishes, and technically honey dishes via ing magnet and the weekly reward card. Oh, and apple pie. Adding cocoa will actually get me a 25% boost dish in the petal dance tart, plus technically the chocolate cake, and cocoa + soybeans will get me the protein smoothie. So apparently dessert week is going to be my best week for awhile.

Oh, and I got a whole 5 spawns this morning, without even doing the full sleep! Phone died at around 6 hours in.

I’m about halfway from Ultra 3 to Ultra 4, which is really not bad at all, but sadly isn’t quite enough to get the Squirtle incense on offer. I hope my ability to get incense increasss faster than my research rank, or I’m not gonna be getting those for awhile.

I gotta figure out what’s eating this phone’s battery sometimes. Some nights it goes the whole night and is at about 50% battery in the morning, some nights it dies after about 6 hours. I think maybe the screen isn’t reliably shutting off?

I need a total of 110 styles. I'll definitely get to a high enough rank that more than 110 styles are possible- I just need G2 for that, which is about 32k strength, and I'm at 10k already. It's just a matter of how lucky I get with sightings. For six more naps and seven more nightly sleeps... probably not.

Persian is a really unfortunate shiny. I'm not sure I could tell you the difference at all. I know Meowth has pinkish feet for the shiny.
