It usually depends on the security person tbh (even it shouldn't). I don't think my bag last time was exactly in the measurements given but they ofc wanted to go through it, mean while someone got in with slightly bigger bag and their bag was not even checked.

You should be good if your bag is close to the measurements and not huge anyways.

With my understanding you'd go to the platform 2 at Neue mitte station and the bus picks you up there but at the Oberhausen station the final stop is outside and it's platform 8 (the bus stops may be called as platforms, esp if they're first or last ones and they do not need to start and end at the same same number). The train to airport leaves from the station on platform 12.

To me the Neue Mitte stop for NE12 looks like it's the big station btw.

Most likely the schedule will be very similar as.yiu can see from the previous years as there the same.amoint of bands too (if I remember correctly). You can try to go to hotel and ask for early check in as that always depends on how fast they're cleaning the rooms. + you can usually leave your stuff already at the hotel baggage room if they have any but then they would probably prefer to check in you before than after EF but it.might be possible... also there might be a small chance.that you could ask to check in early and leave the bags to the baggage room but just not go to the room until you come back from ef. If they agree to that.

Basically of you come down from the trains, you walk not to the exit, but into the building. Then there's a lil hallway with extra doors & if you go out those, you should be at the stop it tells you.
Alternatively, you can go out the exit and walk around the building, but there's a few homeless people there and sometimes it smells like piss.

I think that was the route to oberhausen hbf from the hotel as you were confused where does the bus/tram stop is on that end and where are the train platforms. If you dont stop at oberhausen hbf on the way ro hotel then you don't need that (but if you want to save it for the journey back to the airport)
